A Microsoft anunciou na terça-feira (18) que comprou a desenvolvedora de games Activision Blizzard por 68,7 bilhões de dólares (aproximadamente R$ 375 bilhões). A empresa é dona de jogos famosos, como Call of Duty, Candy Crush, Overwatch, Tony Hawk, Crash e Warcraft.
Uma nota emitida pela empresa, que possui um videogame próprio no mercado, o Xbox, afirma que o “mobile é o maior segmento para jogos, com quase 95% dos jogadores ao redor do mundo aproveitando jogos em dispositivos móveis. Com grandes times e grande tecnologia, a Microsoft e a Activision Blizzard irão empoderar jogadores para aproveitar as franquias mais imersivas, como Halo e Warcraft, virtualmente em qualquer lugar que quiserem”.
A nota também cita o Candy Crush e aponta que “a divisão mobile de negócios da Activision Blizzard representa uma grande presença e oportunidade para a Microsoft neste segmento de rápido crescimento”.
Com a compra, jogos da Blizzard também poderão ser disponibilizados no Game Pass, serviço de assinatura da empresa e um dos principais atrativos do Xbox.
